Kate Middleton‘s due date for royal baby number three is right around the corner and the big question now is: what will it’s name be?

The Duchess is expected to give birth around April 24th and according to bookies in the UK, most people are guessing it’s going to be a girl. More specifically, a girl named Mary with the name coming in with three-to-one odds according to The Independent[1].

“By far the most popular name, in volume and size of stakes, is Mary,” bookmakers at Paddy Power Betfair told The Independent. “We’ve received thousands of bets on that being the choice of name – so much so that we actually had to suspend the betting a few weeks ago. The name was originally 20/1, and has since come right into 3/1.”

Right behind Mary are two other royal baby girl names, Alice, at five-to-one and Victoria, at eight-to-one odds.
People are also putting bets on Prince William‘s grandmother’s name, Elizabeth, with it having 11-to-one odds on the list.

Because so many people are putting their bets on the girl names, Paddy Power Betfair have offically stopped accepting bets on the gender of the baby.

“As you can see from the odds, with Mary and Alice the top rated two, it’s clear our punters are all-but confirming the baby’s gender,” the spokesperson said.

There are still bets for baby boy names thought, with Edward being the favourite at eight-to-one. Behind Edward the name selections include Arthur, Frederick, Albert, James, Philip and Alexander.

Either way, no matter what the baby’s name is, looking at Princess Charlotte and Prince George, it’s going to be one cute kid.
